January lately (by Kimberly)

So I started out the new year thinking about resolutions-resolutions to be a happier, healthier, more balanced me.  A friend of mine recommended goal setting and the "Making Things Happen" blog by Lara Casey (http://laracasey.com/blog/). Before long, I found myself feeling refreshingly inspired to DO things.

And DO things, have I done!

One day I spontaneously decided to ask the local coffee cart (kind of like a food truck business), who frequents one of my places of work, if they had ever thought about selling a few baked goods along side their delicious coffee.

And here I am!  I just finished my first order for them and delivered it last night.

My friends at Caffe Bellezza are going to sell them at the Durham Food Truck Rodeo this afternoon!

I am feeling so much love and support from everyone, and I feel so excited and alive!

...And I'm hoping that this feeling is contagious!

Peace,

Kimberly

September lately (by Vicki)

So this weekend was a whirlwind of family and friends. Baby shower at Brick Street Café on Saturday followed by Lochlan's 3rd birthday party on Sunday at our house. Mom and Dad came to stay with us and Dearie stayed with Lyndi. Grandma and Granddaddy came to Brick Street for the shower, but drove back that day.

The baby shower was fun and we got lots of cute things for baby girl Rhodes. Cathie hosted it and Granddaddy and Dad even joined the ladies. We played a quick game then ate yummy (and HUGE) cake. In addition to Cathie, Mom and Dad, Grandma and Granddaddy, Dearie, Delynn, Kelly and Velda, Lauren, Reshma, Paula, and Laura also attended. Afterward, Lyndi took some maternity photos at Thornwell down at the barn and then a few later on at our house with the guys.

After going to church Sunday morning, a crew gathered to celebrate Lochlan's birthday with a Veggie Tales party: Cathie, Phil and Anne, Mary (Anne's mom), Dearie, Lyndi and Jay, Mom, Dad, Shaunna (neighbor) and her son Jeremy, Edson and Addie Stockman (neighbors) and Christian (neighbor) all joined us. We had cake with a Veggie Tales candle, Veggie Tales coloring pages, Larry Boy/Veggie Tales toddler corn hole, and bubbles - all to a Veggie Tales soundtrack. Lochlan had an absolute blast and was SHOWERED with gifts. :)

Lyndi took fabulous pictures (more to come):
